Love is what we were born with. Fear is what we have learned here. The spiritual journey is the relinquishment—or unlearning—of fear and the acceptance of love back into our hearts.

—Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love

Love is the essence of life. It moves through us, shapes us, and, at times, eludes us when we need it most. It’s what unites us in our highest moments and breaks us in our lowest. Love, in its many forms, is the thread that has woven my life together, even when I struggled to recognize it.

For decades, I searched for love in all the expected places—family, relationships, work, religion—but life had a way of pulling the rug out from under me just as I thought I’d found solid ground. My journey has been anything but linear. It has been wild, unpredictable, and, at times, painfully humbling.

This is the story of how I reclaimed love—how I lost it, misunderstood it, ran from it, and, ultimately, found it again in places I never expected. Through heartbreak, healing, and reinvention, I discovered that true love isn’t something we find out there. It begins within.

For years, I wore masks—hiding behind ambition; chasing validation; and convincing myself that if I worked hard enough, achieved enough, or loved others well enough, I would finally feel whole. But love doesn’t work that way. It’s not a prize to be won or a goal to be checked off a list. Love is the unfiltered, unpolished, unrelenting truth of who we are when we strip everything else away.

My story is not just about romantic love, though, as you’ll see, I’ve had my share of passion and heartbreak. It’s about the kind of love that transforms us—the love that forces us to confront our deepest wounds, saves us when we’re drowning, and teaches us to stand tall in our own truth.

I once believed love had to fit a certain mold. That it had to look like the fairy tales I was told as a child. That it had to come in a neat little box, tied with a bow, following all the rules. But my life—and this book—proves otherwise.

This is a story about defying expectations; choosing authenticity over approval; and embracing the unexpected, whether that be in a glass of wine, the arms of a woman, or the healing power of a plant society once condemned.

At its heart, Wine, Women, and Weed is a love story—not just mine but one we all share: the love of self, the love of life, and the love that persists even when everything else crumbles.

I invite you to journey with me—to laugh, to cry, to question, and to celebrate. Pour yourself a glass, take a deep breath, and settle in. Let’s begin.

2. Why I Wrote This Book

A life lived boldly, stories poured out over wine, and a calling to transform chaos into clarity…

šŸ“˜ I’ve lived a wildly interesting life—one filled with reinvention, heartbreak, laughter, and a few too many stories that began over a glass of wine. For years, friends would listen, shake their heads, and say, ā€œYou have to write a book.ā€ Eventually, I realized they weren’t just being polite—they were right.

Wine, Women, & Weed was born from a desire to make sense of it all—to turn chaos into clarity, pain into purpose, and love into legacy. I wanted to share not just the adventures, but the lessons—the healing, faith, and courage it takes to live authentically in a world that often asks us to hide.
